Xianyang Normal University International Student Admissions Guide
I. Degree Programs
1.Duration of Study:4 years. Under special circumstances, the duration may be extended, with a maximum extension of 2 years. Upon completion of required credits and successful defense of a thesis/dissertation, corresponding graduation certificates and academic degree certificates will be issued according to regulations.
2.Admission Requirements: High school graduates. Those whose Chinese proficiency does not meet the standard may first attend a one-semester preparatory course in our long-term Chinese language training program. They can begin their major studies after their Chinese proficiency meets the required level.

(2). Undergraduate Students in Chinese Language and Literature (for international students):
Curriculum: Primarily offers courses at different levels such as Intensive Chinese, Extensive Reading, Listening, Speaking, Grammar, and Writing. Students can also electively take courses like Chinese History and Culture, Chinese Musical Instruments, Music, Fine Arts, Chinese Painting, Calligraphy, News Listening, and Newspaper Reading.
II. Non-Degree Programs
1. Long-term Chinese Language Training Program:
(1). Full-time Classes
1) Duration: One semester or longer.
2) Intake: March or September.
3) Curriculum: Primarily offers courses at different levels such as Intensive Chinese, Extensive Reading, Listening, Speaking, Reading & Writing, Grammar, and Writing. Students can also electively take courses like Chinese History and Culture, Chinese Musical Instruments, Music, Fine Arts, Chinese Painting, Calligraphy, News Listening, and Newspaper Reading.
(2). Evening & Weekend Classes: Minimum duration of one semester. Enrollment in Spring and Autumn semesters. Classes are held in the evenings or on weekends. The curriculum can be similar to the full-time classes or adjusted according to students' specific needs. Class hours are arranged based on student requirements. Tuition fees: Determined by the number of class hours.
(3). One-on-One Tutorial Classes: Minimum duration of one semester. Tuition fee: 100 RMB per hour.
2. Short-term Chinese Study Program:Tuition fees: Determined by the number of class hours.
(1). Regular Short-term Classes: Duration ranges from 1 week to 12 weeks. Flexible start dates.
(2). Holiday Programs: Courses are designed based on student characteristics and specific needs.
1) Summer Program:Intake:Mid-May to early August; Duration:1 week to 12 weeks.
2) Winter Program:Intake: Early January; Duration: 1 week to 4 weeks.
(3). One-on-One Tutorial Classes: Class hours, course types, teaching materials, and schedule are arranged according to the student's specific situation and requirements, providing individualized instruction. Tuition fee:100 RMB per hour.

IV. Application Procedure
Individual applicants should first download the "Xianyang Normal University International Student Application Form" from our website or obtain it from the International Education College of our university. After completion, scan and email the form along with the following documents to 1096207343@qq.com at least two months before the intended start of study:
A clear copy of the information page of your valid passport (valid for more than one year for non-degree programs / more than four years for degree programs) with your signature.
Scanned copies of your highest academic qualification certificate/diploma and academic transcripts.
If the application is approved, the university will inform the applicant of any further required application materials. Upon admission, the university will mail the "Admission Notice" and the "Visa Application for Study in China Form" (JW202 Form). The admitted student should take these documents to the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in their home country/region to apply for a student visa (X1 or X2).
V. Accommodation and Meals
1. The university has apartment buildings for students. Students may also arrange off-campus accommodation independently at their own expense.

2. International students can dine at the university student canteens or the halal canteen at their own expense. They may also prepare simple meals in the shared kitchen using their own utensils and ingredients.
VI. Preparations After Receiving the Admission Notice
1.Visa Application & Health Check
(1). Students studying for one semester can apply for an X2 visa.
(2). Students studying for one academic year or longer must apply for an X1 visa. After arriving in China, they must undergo a health check to apply for a residence permit. Please note the following regarding the "Foreigner Physical Examination Form":
* The original form must be used.
* The form is valid for 6 months.
* A recent photo must be attached to the top right corner of the original form, stamped by the examining hospital.
* The last section of the form must bear the hospital's stamp, and the doctor's signature and date.
* The original lab reports for AIDS, Syphilis, and Electrocardiogram (ECG) must be attached to the form.
2. Insurance
After enrollment, international students studying for one semester or longer must purchase the "Comprehensive Insurance & Protection Scheme for Foreigners Staying in China." Insurance premium for one semester is 400 RMB; for one year it is 800 RMB. For specific insurance claims, please call the Lianhua International Insurance Service Hotline: 400-810-5119.
Short-term students studying for less than one semester are not required to purchase the insurance upon arrival if they have purchased overseas medical and accidental injury insurance before coming to China, provided the coverage amount is over 400,000 RMB (or equivalent in other currencies) and the insurance validity period exceeds their study duration in China. However, they must present the original or notarized Chinese or English version of the insurance certificate (certificates in other languages are not accepted) to the Foreign Affairs Office during registration. Students without valid insurance or whose insurance does not meet the above requirements will not be allowed to register.
VII. Registration Materials
1. For those with an "X1" Visa, please submit:
(1). Signed "Xianyang Normal University International Student Application Form".
(2). "Physical Examination Record for Foreigner" issued by the Shaanxi Health and Quarantine Department of China.
(3). Five (5) recent passport-sized photos (light blue or white background, with your Chinese name written on the back of each photo).
(4). Fee for Residence Permit application (approximately 400 RMB).
(5). Two (2) copies of the "Foreigner's Accommodation Registration Form", three (3) copies of the "Application Form for Extension of Stay for Overseas Personnel", one (1) copy of the "Application Form for Foreigner's Visa & Residence Permit", and your contact phone number.
According to Chinese law, students holding X1 visas must apply for a residence permit within 30 days of entry. Otherwise, they will be considered as illegally residing and may face heavy fines. Please complete the relevant procedures immediately after your arrival.
2.For those with an "X2" Visa, please submit:
(1). Signed "Xianyang Normal University International Student Application Form".
(2). Two recent passport-sized photos (light blue or white background, with your Chinese name written on the back of each photo).
(3). Original or notarized certificate of overseas medical and accidental injury insurance.
(4). One copy of the "Foreigner's Accommodation Registration Form" and your contact phone number.
